My Bikes

Bridgestone CB2 (Citylimit)

This was my original commuting bike since I started in March of 1999. It is a hybrid, made before front suspension was even available. Most of the parts were stock. I added toe clips, reflective tape, fenders, and a rack. I replaced the seat with an Oasis gel-type seat. I also replaced the tires with some semi-slicks.

The only other maintenance that I've done is to replace the chain and brake pads once.

The bike is currently in disrepair. Since I removed the electric motor, I need to readjust the brakes. There is also a broken spoke on the rear wheel and the hub needs to be tightened. In addition, it's about time for a cable replacement.

This is my mountain bike. It has front suspension and an aluminum frame. I have been using this bike more since I need the lower gears while towing a trailer.

Jamis Aurora (2000)

Jamis Aurora touring/sport bike.

The Aurora is my main utility/road bike. It is a cro-moly touring bike with drop handlebars. I find it very comfortable to ride, although I had to get used to drop handlebars since I'd been riding straight all my life. It also has a suspension seat-post, which smooths the ride although the stock seat is too soft and gets uncomfortable after 45 minutes or so.

Rodriguez Toucan (2001)

This tandem (bicycle built for two) is built with drop handlebars and a cro-moly frame. We test rode a lot of different tandems before trying the Rodriguez. Instantly we knew the ride was much more comfortable than any other we had ridden. Still, we got a Nashbar "Suspension Seatpost 2" for the stoker position, just to smooth the big bumps out a little better.

Trek Rocket (2002)

This single-child trailer/jogging stroller has seen some use as I've used it on many recreational rides throughout the summer. Despite its good track record, we are planning to sell it to get a two-child trailer.
