Commuting Statistics

2002 - 2001 - 2000 - 1999

My goal for 2000 was to reach the year with over 2000 commuting miles. Unforunately, I was unable to reach that goal, gathering only 1850 miles for the year. Still, that number was an improvement from the previous year and even harder to achieve after my commute distance was cut in half by a job switch.

After cycling to school for the first few months, I finally graduated in June. Then I began a drive-in, ride-back, ride-in, drive-back cycle to my job in Redmond. I sold my car at the end of July, just before we went on a four-week road trip in our remaining car.

After returning from our road trip, I got a new job at the end of August. The job was in downtown Seattle, so the distance was much shorter than before. That meant I could bike both ways, which I did, even though the distance wasn't as far.
